This is my 3rd and favorite tattoo. I got it the day after thanksgiving this November in Brooklyn, NY. The tattoo is in honor of my mama. The dragonfly was chosen because she used to collect dragonflies was she was little and thought they brought good luck. The Chinese characters say “wu wei” which roughly translates to the concept of effortless effort, knowing when and when not to act, and finding balance in life. My mom’s a Tai Chi master, and growing up, she always tried to instill those concepts in me, since I was generally really spontaneous and impatient. It’s on my left shoulder to look as if it’s rising from my heart. I absolutely love the way it turned out. Beautiful detail. Means the world to me. Done by Anderson Luna at Saved Tattoo. Definitely check him out. http://www.savedtattoo.com/#andersonluna
